George Bevan, founder [2002]

Born and raised in the San Francisco, Bay Area. George Bevan attended the University of Oregon, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Politics, with a Minor in Planning, Public Policy and Management in 1996. On leaving UofO, Bevan returned to the Bay Area to become a Marketing Coordinator for Bridges Marketing Group, a brand/identity firm specializing in packaged foods and graphic design. In 1998, Bevan moved on to attend the California Polytechnic University, Pomona, where he earned a Master of Architecture. Graduating in 2001, he was the recipient of the 2001 AIA Medal for Excellence in the Study of Architecture. Graduate thesis was completed in the Hubei Province, China.
During his residency in Southern California, worked for Michael Folonis, AIA and Associates in Santa Monica, CA designing custom residential homes and restorations, specializing in mid-century and experimental modern. Concurrently, balancing an internship with the City of Pasadena within the Planning and Historic Preservation Division conducting design review for new construction and renovation.
In 2001, returned to the Bay Area to work for a local residential developer as well as move on to be recruited to senior design at Studios Architecture, San Francisco. Lead design of numerous residential and commercial projects within the United States, as well as Mexico, France and Japan.
In 2002, founded Bevan and Associates to currently specialize in residential projects while closely collaborating with interior designers, structural engineers, landscape architects, surveyors, soils engineers and local/county government agencies. George Bevan is an associate member of the American Institute of Architects.
